On February 20, Ambassador Butenis dedicated the U.S. funded Malumghat School and Cyclone Shelter. Malumghat is located in Cox’s Bazar district. The U.S. Army Humanitarian Assistance Program paid for the project, which used Bangladesh labor and materials.  Photos

CDA Judith Chammas and Foreign Minister Morshed Khan open America America Week 2006 in Chittagong . America Week will take place March 14-16.

CDA Judith Chammas and Foreign Minister Morshed Khan open America Week in Chittagong. America Week will take place March 14-16 and is designed to help Bangladeshis better understand the activities of the U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh. Visitors can visit booths set up by USAID partners, American businesses, and the American Embassy. The CDA and other officials are also conducting site visits during the week.

Workshop at the American Corner Chittagong on “Teaching Practices in the ELT Classroom”

A workshop was organized at the American Corner-Chittagong for the English Language Teachers of Chittagong. It was a joint program between BELTA and the American Center Dhaka, on the topic of “Teaching Practices in the ELT Classroom”. It was a day long program, and 60 teachers from different schools and colleges attended the program. More

On March 15, 2006, American Corner Chittagong did a power point presentations program for the librarians of Chittagong. 25 librarians of Chittagong attended this program. More
