Case Status Check
 

Applicants who require additional processing may check their case status online using the PIN ID number given to them at their interview. Please do not contact the Consular Section while your additional processing is still pending – we will communicate all status updates via the case status PDF file. The case status report is updated daily. If you need your passport while your case is still processing, you may pick it up at the embassy on any workday at 1 p.m Please bring the administrative processing letter with your PIN ID.

How to Check your Case Status Online

Please click here (PDF 444 KB) and use the PIN ID in order to obtain the status of your case. Your unique PIN ID is located in the bottom right hand corner of your additional administrative processing letter.

How to Read the Case Status

There are four types of case status remarks:

  • Visit Embassy;
  • Pending Processing;
  • Send Passport;
  • E-mail Embassy and;
  • Collect Passport.

E-mail Embassy

Only if your case status reads 'E-mail Embassy’, please send an email to DhakaNIV@state.gov with the text in the subject “Requested to Contact US Embassy”.

Visit Embassy

You need to come to the Embassy on any workday at 10:00 a.m. Please bring the letter with your PIN ID.

Pending Processing

Your case is still pending additional processing. The Embassy cannot issue you a visa or waive this requirement.

Send Passport

You may submit your passport on any workday at 10:00 a.m. for processing.

“Send Passport” does not guarantee that a visa will be issued. Your application may require further additional processing. Please bring the letter with your PIN ID.

Collect Passport

You may pick up your passport and visa in the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy any workday at 1 p.m. Please bring the letter with your PIN ID.
