East-West Center

The East-West Center brings together people from the United States, Asia, and the Pacific to study and seek solutions to problems of social, economic, and cultural change.

The Center awards graduate student scholarships and conducts programs of applied research in which people of divergent cultural, political, and professional backgrounds work collaboratively on the region's critical issues.

East-West Center scholarships annually support graduate students who come to the Center from nearly 40 countries and attend classes at the University of Hawaii. More than 2,200 applicants from the region compete for some 100 new awards each year.
