About the Embassy

Welcome to the United States Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The United States has enjoyed diplomatic relations with Bangladesh continuously since 1971. The bilateral relationship is strong and growing stronger. The U.S. Mission to Bangladesh is currently headed by Ambassador James F. Moriarty. The Ambassador is assisted by the staffs of the Political/Economic/Commercial, Public Affairs, Management and Consular Sections. The U.S. Mission to Bangladesh includes several other agencies of the United States Government, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID); the Foreign Agriculture Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture; and the U.S. Defense Attache Office.
