How can I apply for a visa?

Each visa applicant must be interviewed by an American Consular Officer in order to obtain a nonimmigrant visa. During the interview, the consular officer will determine if the applicant is legally eligible and qualified for a visa. All applicants are encouraged to schedule their interviews at least two to three months in advance of travel. 

Appointment Scheduling Service

Applicants may take advantage of the visa scheduling services offered by Saimon Overseas Ltd. This service allows applicants to purchase a fee receipt, fill out, submit forms, and  schedule an interview in one easy stop at the Saimon Overseas branch office in Gulshan, Dhaka. Applicants who use this service will not have to come to the Embassy until the day of their interview and successful applicants will be able to pick up their issued visa from the Saimon Overseas office where they submitted their application.

For this service Saimon Overseas Ltd. will assess a per passport service fee of 650 taka. Address of service provider for nonimmigrant visa applications:

At the Consular Section

Those applicants who do not wish to take advantage of this service through Saimon Overseas Ltd. may continue to schedule interviews for nonimmigrant visas in person at the Consular Section on Thursday between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.  The Consular Section will not provide any expedited dates. The number of appointments available for applicants who appear at the Consular Section will be extremely limited.  For faster service, applicants are strongly encouraged to go to Saimon Overseas Ltd., as mentioned above, to schedule nonimmigrant visa interviews and submit their visa applications. Applicants choosing to schedule through the Consular Section will need to plan further in advance.

Applicants must bring all supporting documents at the time of the interview.
