Ambassador Moriarty Speaks at “Building Bridges Through Leadership Training” Closing

Ambassador James F. Moriarty spoke to an audience of students, parents, and invited guests at the closing ceremony of the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center&'s (BYLC) leadership training course, funded by the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, on July 23, 2009.
The event marked the conclusion of BYLC's second thirty-day youth leadership training, entitled "Building Bridges through Leadership Training. The course, designed by BYLC founder and president Ejaj Ahmad while he was studying at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, consisted of intensive training on leadership principles and hands-on service projects.
The participants were chosen from across the three educational systems in Bangladesh: Bengali-medium, English-medium, and Madrassa. U.S. Ambassador James F. Moriarty served as Chief Guest at the ceremony, and the Guest of Honor was Advisor to the Prime Minister Gowher Rizvi.
Students--one each from English-medium, Bengali-medium, and Madrassa--spoke about their experiences as well. Afterwards, the Ambassador distributed certificates to the students.
