Awami League will demonstrate at election offices all over the country today December 14. In Dhaka the demonstration will take place at the Election Commission Secretariat from 1000 hours to 1400 hours. Demonstrators will converge toward the EC Secretariat from three points -- Russell Square, Agargaon and Mohakhali.

The Caretaker government has instructed the Armed Forces to remain on 'standby' at their camps and will not actively engage in law enforcement. The regular law enforcement agencies (Police and BDR) will be responsible for maintaining law and order.

The Embassy advises all American Citizens to avoid the all areas mentioned above of Dhaka during these planned protests.

We also recommend that American citizens continue to monitor announcements that are published in the local press or announced in the local media.
