As a follow-up to our Security Notice of Wednesday, August 22, the U.S. Embassy informs you that we continue to make ongoing assessments of the threat environment in Bangladesh.

Currently, the curfew is still in effect, even though it is being lifted during the day for a specific period of time.  Please make sure you remain informed about the curfew and its hours of enforcement.

At this time, Embassy employees continue to be restricted to the diplomatic enclave. 

Although there are no reports of incidents in the city, Americans are urged to avoid the area of the Supreme Court in Dhaka.

We remind you that general guidance for all emergencies is “GET IN, STAY IN, and TUNE IN.”
