The Awami League/opposition alliance are having a dawn to dusk (0600-1800) country wide hartal on 08/30/06 to demonstrate against the killing/death of 7 people at the Dinajpur Coal Mine area. The police stated that sporadic violence may occur all over the country during the hartal period.

We also recommend that American Citizens monitor announcements that are published in the local press or announced in the local media.
