The Military with the other law enforcement agencies are deployed at the key locations across the country. Naval forces have been deployed in the coastal belt of Chittagong, Khulna, Noakhali and Bagerhat while the air force is deployed at Zia International Airport, Shah Amanat Airport, and Jessore Airport. 70 battalions of the Military comprising 400 to 1000 troops each were deployed in 64 districts. The Military are stationed at 23 locations in the city setting up temporary camps near most of the government locations of Dhaka City Corporation and also set up a camp in Mirpur Indoor Stadium. The Military is checking vehicles at the entry points of Dhaka looking for weapons and ammunition. A ban on all kinds of gatherings, meetings and processions imposed by the the Dhaka Metropolitan Police is still on. Rule 144 is still in effect around the Bangabhaban.

We recommend that American citizens continue to monitor announcements that are published in the local press or announced in the local media.
