GENERAL DEMONSTRATIONS

The Caretaker Government has recently arrested high profile political figures in Bangladesh on corruption charges.  The situation is calm at this time.  It is unclear, however, whether there will be any serious demonstrations in protest of the arrests.  Police sources have stated that there are no demonstrations currently planned for this weekend.  We advise American Citizens to avoid the areas around Dhaka University and Jagunnath University.

We also recommend that American citizens limit their movements accordingly and monitor announcements that are published in the local press or announced in the local media.
