GENERAL DEMONSTRATIONS

Police have stated that the following groups have planned demonstrations near downtown Dhaka on Thursday, November 9, 2006.

The Sammilita Nagorik Andolon O Peshajibi Samannaya Parishad will form a human chain at 11:00 hours at the Election Commission Office in Agargaon.

The Jatio Shikkakh Kormochari Front will organize a demonstration at 13:30 hours at the Muktangan

The Awami League will organize a demonstration at 14:00 hours at the Azampur, Uttara.

The Chattra Shangram Parishad leaded by Awami League Student Wing will organize a demonstration at 15:00 hours at the Muktangan.

The Lalbagh Thana Awami League will organize a demonstration at 15:00 hours at the Chakbazar.

We recommend that American citizens avoid the Azampur, Muktangan, Chakbazar and Agargaon Election Commission area during the specific times mentioned above.

We also recommend that American citizens monitor announcements that are published in the local press or announced in the local media.
