Security Notice

Security Notice, September 11, 2006

The police stated that the following groups has planned demonstrations near downtown Dhaka on Monday, September 11, 2006.

Bangladesh Mohila Awami League will hold a demonstration at 11:00 hours at the Muktangon.

Sramik Kormochari Oikko Porishad (SKOP) will hold a workers rally at Muktangon at 16:30 hours.

The Embassy advises all American Citizens to avoid Muktangon area during the time specified above.  

We also recommend that American Citizens monitor announcements that are published in the local press or announced in the local media.
