GENERAL DEMONSTRATIONS

Police sources confirmed that the following groups have planned demonstrations near downtown Dhaka on Tuesday, September 26, 2006.

The Bangladesh Awami Sansskritik Forum will hold a demonstration at 11:00 hours at the Bangabandhu Avenue.

The Sromik Kormochari Oikko Porishod (SKOP) will hold a demonstration at 11:30 hours at the Muktangan.

The Bangladesh Chattra Union will hold a demonstration at 12:30 hours at the Muktangan.

The Bangladesh Workers Party will hold a demonstration at 15:30 hours at the Muktangan.

We recommend that American citizens avoid the following areas during planned protests in the areas of Muktangan and Bangabandhu Avenue area during the time specified above.

We also recommend that American citizens monitor announcements that are published in the local press or announced in the local media.
