Due to confirmed reports of gunfire at the Bangladesh Rifles Headquarters located in Dhanmondi, the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has restricted its American employees to the Diplomatic Enclave until further notice. The security situation in Dhaka remains fluid. We advise all Americans to avoid unnecessary travel. Americans are reminded to exercise routine personal security awareness and encouraged to avoid crowds. The U.S. Embassy will continue to monitor the situation.
