The situation in Bangladesh remains fluid. Emotions are running high after the discovery of mass graves, and the Government of Bangladesh has declared three days of national mourning. At a yet to be determined time, funerals will be held at the Army Cantonment and burials will take place at Banani Cemetery, adjacent to the American Center. The travel of Embassy employees and their family members remains restricted to the Diplomatic Enclave until further notice. We advise all Americans to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel. Americans are reminded to exercise routine personal security awareness and encouraged to avoid crowds. The U.S. Embassy will continue to monitor the situation.
