Warden Message

Local police have informed the U.S. Embassy that they are expecting demonstrations at the Dhaka University campus over the weekend due to the one year anniversary of the January 11 declaration of a State of Emergency.  The Embassy advises US citizens to avoid the Dhaka University area throughout this weekend.

In addition, we have been informed there will be a concert near Kamalapur Rail Station on Friday, January 11 from noon until the end of the eveing.  Police are expecting large crowds.  U.S. Citizens are advised to avoid travel to the Kamalapur area on Friday afternoon and evening.
