In addition to the protest demonstrations scheduled to be held in front of District Commissioner’s offices by the 14 party opposition alliances lead by The Awami League, the Combined Lawyers Association & Supreme Court Lawyers Association will boycott courts today and stage protest demonstrations around the high court & National Press Club area at 1100 hours.
Police have further advised that Combined Lawyers Association & Supreme Court Lawyers Association has called for a country wide Dawn to Dusk (6 am to 6 pm) Hartal on Thursday, December 1, 2005 in protest of yesterday’s bomb attacks at the courts.
We wish to remind American Citizens that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn violent, and accordingly American Citizens are urged to avoid the areas of demonstrations, if possible and to exercise caution if in the vicinity of demonstrations. Please be remain vigilant at this time and avoid any areas that you feel may be targeted. Remember to report any suspicious activity to the police.
